Asaphus trilobites from Morocco are fossilized remnants of a now-extinct group of marine arthropods that lived during the Middle to Late Ordovician period, approximately 485 to 443 million years ago. These trilobites belong to the genus Asaphus, a diverse and widely distributed group characterized by their distinctive three-lobed exoskeletons.

The Moroccan deposits, particularly those found in the Anti-Atlas region, have yielded a rich and diverse assemblage of Asaphus trilobites. These fossils provide valuable insights into the ancient marine ecosystems and environmental conditions of the Ordovician period.

Asaphus trilobites typically exhibit a convex, oval-shaped exoskeleton with well-defined cephalon (head), thorax (body), and pygidium (tail).
