The Asian forest scorpion (Heterometrus species) is a type of large scorpion native to the forests and tropical regions of Southeast Asia. These arachnids are part of the family Scorpionidae and are recognized for their impressive size, formidable appearance, and nocturnal habits.
Typically measuring between 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 centimeters) in length, the Asian forest scorpion displays a robust build with dark brown to black exoskeletons. They are opportunistic predators, feeding on insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates.
